Today (24 August 2013) is the day of the ‘Welsh Closed’ Judo Championships.
Although I had planned to enter, I am unable to do so as I suffered a heavy landing in Judo training two weeks ago which resulted in an acromioclavicular (AC) joint sprain in my right shoulder.
I visited the physiotherapist 2 days after the injury occured and thankfully it was not too serious. She said about three weeks for recovery although I am thinking it could be a little more as we are two weeks in and it is still very painful.
She gave me a rubber stretchy thing and some excercises to do, but said not to start until the pain subsides.
It’s still very painful when I scratch my butt or wash my ‘hair’ (head) so there was no way I could enter. Maybe next time.
